AP100ESC – Engine Start Controller
INTRODUCTION
The AP100 ESC is a compact powerful Microprocessor based engine start controller for automatic operation of small generators or pumps. It will operate on either 12 or 24 Volt electrical systems and will monitor engines operating at either 1500 or 3000 rpm.
The package comprises of a wall or set mounted slim line control module and includes an Auto-Off-Run Control Selector, Hours Run Meter and LED Indicators. A flexible cable with a seven pin plug allows the control module to be easily connected during installation.
The AP100 ESC includes all of the features that contribute to the history of reliability of the Advanced Power Products AP Series Systems. The microprocessor scans the inputs and performs filtering for noise. The engine protection switch is operated in pulsed current mode so that the contacts are wetted and self clean with minimal current draw. The output relays are pulse width driven to accommodate wide fluctuation in power supply voltage. The controller is rated to operate down to 5.5 Volts supply. The engine speed is calculated from either flywheel alternator or ring gear to suit any engine option.
The auto start facility monitors either single or multi station paralleled switching located remotely from the controller. A pair of terminals is provided under the controller and when switched together will initiate a start sequence if selected for auto.
Typical applications for this rugged multi purpose controller would include -
- Single Engine Start
- Remote Start
- Mains Fail Automatic Generator Start
- Low Battery Bank Automatic Generator Start

Automatic Mains Failure and Generator Controller
INTRODUCTION
The Generator Controller provides monitoring and control of essential function for a diesel generator set. Voltage free contact inputs are monitored using low power and noise tolerant techniques. Relay outputs are rated for 10 amps 240 volt AC or 30 volts DC. There is one push button input for testing the LED indicators and to reset any fault conditions.

AP301 Engine Metering System
DESCRIPTION OF OPERATIONS
The AP301EMS is designed to operate in conjunction with an AP202. The heart of the '301 is the microprocessor reading through a novel single slope integrating and sampling analog to digital converter system.
The microprocessor continuously samples a reference input to calculate gain and offset for any other readings. The analog inputs are read in a 'round robin' fashion and averaged to produce a stable display.
The display software drives a serial interface to the first eight digits and a latch for the ninth digit.
Outputs are open drain FETS driven directly from port C of the uP.
Analog to digital conversion is performed by firstly dumping any charge on the integrating capacitor. The input multiplexer selects the required input and the integrating cap begins to charge. The uP reads an 8 bit value every 16 microseconds for 32 samples or until the 8 bit converter overflows. The result is then mathematically averaged, scaled and offset to give a raw value approximately in millivolts. This reading is then scaled and offset once again as needed for the respective input.
The readings are then averaged over time in an inverse exponential fashion to further reject noise.
The values displayed are updated approximately once per second.
The displayed values are checked against the calibrated alarm points and outputs set The FET outputs are updated two seconds after switch on.
AP600 Integrated Digital Metering System
INTRODUCTION
The AP600 makes all the required power measurements for three phase generating or consuming electrical equipment. It is an entirely solid state system with no moving parts, and uses a microprocessor to measure voltage, current, and frequency, and calculate power consumption and power factor in real time. The measurements are displayed in large, bright red LEDs. The AP600 can be used in many applications such as:
a. Generator set output panel.
b. Load bank input monitor.
c. Industrial power supply monitor for machinery lines, industrial heating and other processes which consume electrical energy.
