A600 Solar Series
The worlds only tubular plate ultra high cycle life gel VRLA battery suitable for solar and other renewable energy applications. 1600 cycles according to IEC 896T2. 12 to 15 years float lifetime at an ambient temperature of 20C (with 80% residual capacity). Eurobat classification: High Integrity
These batteries have proven themselves over decades and thousands of installations throughout the harshest regions of the world and simply have no peer when comparing service life, cycles, resistance to abuse and tolerance to a wide range of environments. Available in 2 Volt cells from 240Ah to 3500Ah (C100)
Maintenance Free and Sealed
Each cell is sealed by a valve preventing penetration by airborne oxygen. Excess pressure (from overcharging) is vented and the valve resets. Gas within the battery is recombined to form water. Therefore no water topping up or filling is needed and no acid spill will occur.
High Cycle and service Life

Deep Discharge Resistant
Batteries can survive deep discharges and still recover their capacity. Even after 4 weeks left flat the battery can recover to 80% after 48 hours recharging and to 100% after a few cycles.
No acid stratification
Due to gel construction no equalization charge necessary

Batteries comply with Federal Office of road safety Schedule to ACA 94-03 when transported by road and with IMDG paragraph A67 for airfreight
Extremely Low Self Discharge
Less than 3% of the rated capacity per month in storage is lost at 20 deg. C. This means batteries can be stored for long periods without recharging.

Housing material SAN. Also available in ABS UL94 VO upon request.
Low Gassing
Very low gas evolution due to antimony free plates and gas recombination within the cell.

Battery construction
- Plates - The plates of the A600 solar battery comprise positive tubular and negative grid plates. The positive plate mass is enclosed by a porous and extremely strong tubular plastic jacket. These Sonnenschein tubes have an exceptionally high retention capacity, ensuring long life even in cyclic operation. The lead cores are die-cast in a special antimony free alloy.
- Separators - Microporous plastic separators are provided between plates of differing polarity.
- Electrolyte - The electrolyte is sealed in a thixotropic gel. The rated density of the acid is 1.24 kg/l. Added phosphoric acid for additional cycle life.
- Housing _ The cell containers are made of SAN, a high grade and acid resistant plastic material. Containers and covers are sealed secure against electrolyte leakage. The newly developed terminal construction and the pressure relief valve provide airtight sealing of the cell and prevent any oxygen from the atmosphere entering the cell
